ICE is targeting Native businesses & community/resource centers in Minneapolis. They harassed people at Pow Wow Grounds & sat outside of the American Indian Women's Resource Center for 2 hours last month. Many Native people (that we know of, there's definitely more) have been kidnapped by ICE.
“We were just trying to get him medication… But he was already gone.”

Last week, the internationally renowned Indigenous chef Sean Sherman told us that federal agents detained one of his employees on his way to work. By the next day, he said, his employee was out of Minnesota—and in Texas.

This is also an extremely common cause of death for incarcerated Americans in federal & state custody, btw. All of these systems are connected.
As far as we know, the primary cause of death in ICE custody is a refusal to provide medical care.

It’s a form of structural violence and extremely common component of eugenics and ethnic cleansings.
And here's a text-heavy order from Judge Sorokin on Friday saying ICE failed to heed his orders to ensure a detained woman was receiving epilepsy medication. He threatened contempt if the meds were not provided. www.courtlistener.com/docket/72181...

It really is worth understanding what an escalation this is by the feds to be teargassing the big family friendly march
Just experienced the most intense tear gassing of my life by federal officers outside the ICE facility in Portland where marchers gathered. There was no fast exit as they indiscriminately threw loads of gas and flash bangs. Children were in the crowd screaming. @oregoncapitalchronicle.com

Shortly after ICE escalated to targeted munitions and explodes. The inciting incident? Someone moved a dumpster in front of a gate and they they three empty water bottles.
I just got tear gassed along with thousands of union members, many of whom had their families with them. Federal agents at the ICE facility tear gassed children. We must abolish ICE, DHS, and we must have prosecutions. I expect to see enforcement of our city code prohibiting the use of tear gas.

If you ever see us sharing something you know to be AI generated, please let us know, and please don't get mad or defensive at people who do that for you. It's not a call out, it's a helpful piece of information. We all need to normalize that going forward in order to have any hope of functioning.
Finding myself spending less time scrolling as the grim and disquieting thought "is this AI?" undermines my sense of learning about what's going on, and even enjoyment of memes. I see something I might once have reposted and instead just log off.

So, actually, thanks for that, AI slopmongers.

"Plans for ‘mega centers’ and jails in nearly two dozen communities… Currently, there are more than 73,000 people in ICE custody, a record. The new sites could give the agency an additional 76,500 beds."

If the existing beds remain, that would be space to detain 150,000 humans.
