Anyone else reminded of the central computer in THX 1138? Offering counseling and conversation in “confession booths” to grieving and confused people numbed by drugs.

I once read a near future sf horror story in which real estate agents were given “cull” lists by the government. They “cleaned” the property of “undesirables” and then put it on the market for more “desirable” citizens. In exchange, they and their families were kept off the cull lists. So … yeah.
