It's stiff. Lifeless. With a bunch of weird physics and shots that can't last longer than a few seconds. No quality control. Sloppy execution.

If I were to believe they actually spent weeks on this (which I don't tbh) then thats even more embarassing for them.

Off the top of my head:
the mall, arcades and skateparks.

Not ideal third spaces. But these days they are either nearly empty or closed alltogether.

I'd wager the lonliness of children (and people in general) is far less of an issue in walkable cities that have plenty of free, third spaces.

The internet is an issue with how it excuses/encourages further (physical) isolation. Even though, yes, the internet ironically can be a bandaid to replace some socialisation.

However I'd say the larger issue is car-centric city planning.

There are far less third spaces, especially for children, now than in the 90s.

Parents also have become far more restrictive and won't let their kids have any freedom to go outside, even in their own neighborhoods

ex: "trick or treating" has more or less been replaced by "trunk or treating"

I've politely (and sometimes impolitely) asked and begged them all to tell Erika to change the numbers on these things.

And recently I've just given up and accepted that Erika will be a part of my life until I get a new number (and perhaps a new Erika with it.)

I have had this number for, like, 7 years at this point and I'm still getting calls for Erika. I've gotten family updates, been added to friend group chats, pharmacies and doctors calling for her. I can't sign up for some websites because MY number is still attached to her account lol
