we should not be letting any company get away with blaming AI for their failures. I'm not even sure how we got to this point. people are like "it's just a tool" okay so is a forklift and we still hold somebody responsible when it goes wrong and hurts someone. this is YOUR AI!

“‘The uncritical adoption of AI can lead to students not developing essential academic skills such as critical thinking and writing. If students are taught to learn through automation, without learning about how & why things work, they won’t be able to solve problems when something actually breaks’”

I'm sure someone could arrange that for you.

Oh no...the "surrender whites" haven't been good to us in the past.

Those are nice, but they need print-on-demand for all the posters from day 1. When I asked before, I was told they didn't have licensing for the celebrity images. But it would be worth the effort to reach out to get that licensing. R.E.M. let theirs be printed as a puzzle for a charity fundraiser.

Right? And if they reissued the posters (and/or did a 2025 campaign), I'd buy some of those, too.

Also, this is what is wrong with the cable news formula. Even when they know nothing, they must fill the air and so they fill it with speculation. We don’t know why this terrible shooting happened. It’s dangerous to speculate motives or politics. Please stop.

You could conceivably code something that looks for the "existence" of an article with a certain citation, but it wouldn't be able to tell you if the article actually says what the LLM claims it says. Or if it was one conditional statement among a group that doesn't really apply universally.

I wrote ALA suggesting they reissue some classics as a fundraiser. They dismissed it because original licensing with celebrities. Like, how hard is it to contact people and ask for extended terms? R.E.M. let theirs be put out as a jigsaw puzzle a few years ago for a local charity. I want the poster.
