My idea here was for her to take the perfectly walkable slight slope available at the left side to get at the toy. The very same slope we just came down.
She had a more direct approach. I knew she could climb, but 90° vertical came as a surprise.

As long as they have good grippy bark, yes.
Though she's not climbing, she simply runs in a vertical direction. Gravity just doesn't dare to speak up.

I have absolutely not said this and I will absolutely deny being part of their early warning team that most definitely was not distributed strategically throughout town while they played.
German towns with their 1000 year-old street network make it easy to vanish.

A group of people dressed head to toe in red ride customized bicycles down a tree-lined city street. The bikes are modified to carry musical instruments. The man in front pedals a tricycle fitted with a large white sousaphone, while another rides a tricycle with a bass drum mounted on it. More cyclists in matching red outfits follow behind, each carrying their own instruments, forming a cheerful and eccentric parade.
