Losing the 2PP in 30 Newspolls in a row was the trigger for Turnbull to challenge Abbott.
A poll that is so dire for the Coalition that they polled 18% and Newspoll declined to publish a 2PP has to be the trigger for another #Libspill.

Howard was more responsible for making housing unaffordable than anyone else who has been in government in the past 50 years.
He commissioned a report on housing affordability from the Productivity Commission in 2004. He didn't like the findings so he did nothing to fix it.

Can Kid design an experiment to determine whether the SiH₄ molecule is tetrahedral or planar?

I remember going to school in 43C heat. Fortunately, my afternoon classes were in modern solid brick buildings so I scarcely felt the heat.
Then, at about 3 pm, a wall of dust rolled in from the north-west as the dust storm hit.
8th of February, 1983.

If the school isn't able to keep kids cool in summer, staying home is the only sensible option. Too many school buildings are still little more than plywood boxes with no air conditioning.

The strategy could be based on the stock market.
1. Make outrageous remarks. Stock market goes down.
2. Walk back the remarks. Stock market goes back up.
Did a certain someone buy and then sell shares at these convenient times?

Right-wing advocates of reintroducing FPTP in Australia will go mysteriously quiet this year.

The federal government has maintained perpetual high unemployment to appease neoliberals and capitalists for half a century.
Now it seeks to punish the victims of its malfeasance, again.
Just another example of human rights of vulnerable Australians being violated.

I found it works well when there is one specific thing to learn in each session. Parking. Navigation. Hook turns. Hill starts. Night driving with high beams. Driving in fog. Bad weather driving. Meet that specific goal, spend the rest of the time just driving.

Sometimes we would spend an hour just practising parking in an empty car park.
Most interesting experience: driving an ailing car home with a dying fuel pump on the Hume Highway.
He got his licence first try.

I taught someone to drive some years ago. We started small - some quiet streets, turn left, turn right, mirror, signal, brake. We built up to more difficult challenges: hook turns, longer drives, reading maps, night driving with high beams.

Corporations that own data centres should pay for the infrastructure needed to support them. They should fund in full all energy generation, energy transmission and recycled water that they require.
They should not be getting energy and potable water at discounted rates.

At a library, find a book you have never read and read it. If you don't finish it, you can borrow it.

A disgraceful Act of parliamentary bastardry.
Sooner or later, the parliament will have to confront the abuses it has perpetuated on vulnerable Australians. No wonder they don't want a bill of rights.

The media should be asking her difficult questions, and keep doing so. The Guardian should not be alone, shining a torch in the dark. Bring the sunlight.

Given that One Nation is polling near 20%, it is long past time that the lack of media scrutiny of Hanson and One Nation came to an end.

Boland faced more balls in his second innings (17) than all but 3 of the England batsmen faced in the England first innings. I think he did OK.

Very nice photo. I've dug out Norton's Star Atlas to identify some of the stars. The bright one at the top is Achernar and the bright one bottom left is Canopus.

The government should also look at raising various thresholds:
* liquid assets threshold: same value as 1994
* working credit: not increased for over a decade
* income threshold: no increase for 20 years
Every year, this python squeeze gets tighter.
