Here are the Walwa and Longwood line scans (as of 3:30pm 10 Jan) to give you an idea of the scale of the fires when overlaid on the base Melbourne map.

Yikes!

The shootings at Bondi are awful and distressing. My condolences to the victims.

I went shopping today. The weather was warm, and the bus was packed with teenagers on the way to the beach.
It was NOISY! So many teenagers talking to each other and not a mobile phone in sight.
Maybe this social media ban is going to do some good.

On hold to Workforce Australia to change providers as a result of their misconfiguration of my location. Nearly an hour so far with no end in sight and no call back option.
Changing providers has become very difficult. I've been trying to fix this for over 10 weeks.

Australian politicians might want to look at banning algorithms that set rents and price fix. A practice America has now banned due to its anti-competitive and predatory approach to tenants incomes as theirs to gouge. Housing is a vital need, but not the only expense in people’s lives. #housing

Limiting negative gearing (NG) to one property will NOT be effective. A property owner with multiple properties would designate one expensive property as their NG tax shelter and inflate the NG liabilities on that property as much as they can. 1/2

Age discrimination against older workers is a serious problem in Australia. A new survey shows that 24% of employers consider people aged 51 or older as "old".
This number is the number of employers who admitted to this. The true number is much higher.

One Nation has gained senators in NSW and WA.
I speculated on this during the election campaign based on published opinion polling. This possibility should have been expected due to the size of ON's polling in these states.
bsky.app/profile/mach...
One Nation would be competitive for a Senate seat if they can end up with the Coalition's surplus and that surplus is not too large.
This is possible in NSW, WA and SA.
ONP vote is too low in Vic and LNP surplus may be too close to a third seat in Qld.
