Hi!! This is Mackenzie, previously known as museqchick on horse twitter. I deactivated due to legal reasons (long story😵💫) but decided to try to rebuild some of that community here. Marie, Clem, Hattie and I are all doing well and can’t wait to catch up with yall!
Got to enjoy this view for a few mins last night. Riding in the field for now while I work on her separation anxiety on the ground (BO added a new horse to the field thinking then I wouldn’t have to take Clem along when I ride Hattie, but it backfired and now all three are attached to each other🙃)

I’ve started learning about native gardening and have my first few gardens at Jacks house planned out. I just discovered a FB group where you can swap plants/seedlings with other people in the area and I LOVE IT. Still chasing the high I got trading SWAPS in Girl Scouts 20 years ago

Typically, a good horse training day puts me on cloud nine for several days and a less good one rolls off my shoulders pretty quickly. Lately, it’s more like a good day cheers me up for several hours and a less good day bums me out for the rest of the day🙃 need to have more grace with myself rn

Started a new stimulant med and I’m pretty sure I’m supposed to avoid caffeine while on it. I’ve had coffee a few times since with no repercussions so I ordered the Dunkin berry burst energy drink at 2:30PM today while doing documentation. Big mistake, it’s now almost 3am with nary a yawn in sight😪

Yall this shit is no joke😭 Hattie is starting regumate today, I took all the precautions and my lady parts still want to kill me from the inside. I love my barn workers though and will be pre-filling the syringes so they get minimal exposure, catch me showing up in a hazmat suit next time😭

Anyone here have experience with regumate? Is there a difference in efficacy between brand name/generic or oral/IM administration? Also what’s the $ difference? Hattie’s spring heat cycle seems brutal so I wanna start it ASAP but also wanna avoid oral admin for the employees’ sakes if possible

I’ve seen a few Tiktokers who are on the left and also use problematic horsemanship (patience poles, bronc’ing youngsters, etc) which boggles my mind a bit. I’ve now seen for the first time someone who “loves” Tr*mp and also fiercely advocates for ethical horsemanship which boggles my mind a LOT

Jack and I went to a St. Patrick’s Day event in our city yesterday, they had a row of vendors and one of them had some small handheld musical instruments including a Kalimba. I impressed him by figuring out how to play that one Avatar The Last Airbender song on the spot😎

This is the farthest away Clem has ever been from Hattie since they met!! And they were this far away 15 mins before when I pulled in the driveway too!!! Clem has struggled big time with separation anxiety basically since I bought her, so this is HUGE❤️

I’ve noticed on FB, people seem to be having a much harder time selling used big name French saddles. Three years ago, I sold an old worn Devoucoux for $900 almost instantly, now I’m seeing many below that just not selling. Gives me hope for owners learning more about proper saddle fit/back health🥹

My girls are super chunky going into spring and will be getting grazing muzzles on this week. They’ll obviously need the muzzles taken off for meals, but I want to avoid the muzzles becoming aversive since they obviously limit how much yummy spring grass they can eat. What if I start buying

There’s nothing better than logging into your energy account with a lump in your throat bc you’re poor and haven’t made a payment since January, then seeing you somehow got a few hundred $ of credit. Still some $ left over too, so looks like I won’t have an energy bill for the next month or two😎

I’ve been hearing about the Balance Through Movement method for years now but have also seen controversy surrounding it. Is that purely about the creator or about the method too? I keep seeing videos of this TB’s transformation and the owner attributes it to BTMM, it might really help Hattie

Wanna slowly start upgrading both mares’ blankets to Rambos, which I def don’t have the money to do buying new so I’m watching eBay and FB like a hawk. Found someone selling an EXACT match to Clem’s med weight in great condition for an awesome price, now the girls can twin when it’s freezing out🥰

Maybe if I cut out roughly this area and put a hem on it? Also maybe stitch some stretchy heavy duty Lycra-like material so that the front end of the pad stays connected but the material at the withers isn’t restrictive? I can barely even sew a button but this might be my hyperfixation this weekend

Someone should come up with a way to modify baby pads so they provide wither clearance without bunching up under the saddle. I have several that are sentimental to me but I don’t think it’s as simple as just cutting a wither cutout in the front since they’re long and have to be folded in the front

There’s very few things I miss about living in Florida. One of them was living 10 mins away from Mar-A-Lago because it meant I could drive by with my windows down blasting FDT whenever I wanted (which was fairly often)
