We're a registered heritage site on the shores of Kalamalka Lake, in Coldstream BC, dedicated to preserving and presenting the history of the families who inhabited Mackie Lake House from 1910-1999.
This is an important day to remind consumers about the impacts of climate change as tea leaves only grow in tropical and subtropical ecosystems which are vulnerable to shifts in temperature.

For the Mackie family, peace came at an incredible cost - they lost two of their sons in the war effort. The experiences of all Canadians during the war years would shape their lives for the decades to come, and it is our honour to Remember Them.

We can only imagine the relief felt by families in Canada like the Buchanans, the Laytons, and the Mackies (all of whom once called Lake House their home).

During the war, Elizabeth met and spent time with numerous famous dignitaries around the world.

She attended the Quebec Conference with Churchill in 1943 and noticed the crowds of citizens cheering for him as their train passed.

Elizabeth flew the family coop in the late 1930s to train as a secretary in London, UK. In the final days of the Blitz, she signed on to work as one of Winston Churchill's secretaries.
