Listen if you're like, in your mid-thirties and mostly just ignore physical ailments you should get some recovery slides. You can feel better.

Gosh another reason for local journalism... this week's paper is full of pictures and memories of the '85 flood.

I can share this now that the loan is over, but a few weeks ago a colleague was late to our meeting because, I quote, "my moon rocks from NASA arrived early."

Had a dream that I was basically in Smokey and the Bandit except I was too cautious of a driver and the boss man (Burt Reynolds?) told me I was too much of a millennial manager and then to prove his point I started crying. Guess I'll keep my day job.

I've a systems librarian nerd level paper here co-authored by a friend and colleague. They discuss AI bots scraping the online catalogue, bringing it down by creating thousands of complex faceted searches.

AI takes and takes and does so multiple times per second

The time I spend with students is so nice that it feels even worse to read the news after class because I feel sad for them too.

A colleague of mine was a Lang Fellow and we're still benefitting from his fellowship + my own RBS classes to share book history on our campus. We're reaching students, faculty, and alums. Such a great opportunity!

After ~15 years in the profession, I've finally landed on a research/writing project that doesn't feel like a chore. Which is great but also omg what an ever expanding project how will it ever become a real thing and not just me getting excited about obscure midcentury documents.
