Unfortunately cyclists who rely on routing apps will probably continue to get routed via the signed but unsafe 'crossing' point further east on Essex Rd.

That section of the the Hackney to Camden route should really be decommissioned/rerouted.

Works appear to have commenced for the St John St works. Street open southbound only, doesn’t appear to have an ‘except cycles’. @maclondon.bsky.social

Finally some pics (from yesterday) at the works area that requires the diversions.

Note the zebra paving for the future crossing in pic 1.

Fans of the usage of parenthesis will like these. @edmondchuihw.bsky.social
Sign outside Hackney Empire on Mare St Sign at the C27 parallel crossing Same location as Pic 3, with a 'cyclists diversion ends' sign

The schools end of Downham Rd is open again following the works during school holidays.

A new zebra crossing + speed tables went in during the resurfacing done on Downham Rd in the past week.
maclondon.bsky.social
Seems to have been planned purely based on looking at Google Maps.

I suspect the diversions might get somewhat amended though.
maclondon.bsky.social
The "northbound route" could be made better if Corporation St either got contraflow cycling added or had its one-way reversed.
maclondon.bsky.social
Map of the planned diversion is online at www.thameswater.co.uk/about-us/pro...

@newhamcyclists.uk Better to follow the purple line below (to minimise the Manor Rd 'experience') though.

How Downham Rd looked tonight with more resurfacing under way to add to that done in the last few days.

Looks like the scheme here might be largely complete by the end of the week.

Belishas have finally gone in at the parallel crossing on Copper St, close to the Copper Box.

Eastbound Cycleway 2 is back to normal on Stratford High St. The link from the QEOP side of C22 is no longer blocked (pic 3).

Current works seem now to be on restoring the central reservation on the Bow side of the C22 crossing.

Canonbury Place (as featured in Jon Stone's cycle video this week) got some very welcome resurfacing on Friday, with more resurfacing planned for Monday.

All of the planned bus gate + one-way changes for the Chatsworth Rd LN have begun.

My favourite bit of it is the western section of Clifden Rd. Its one-way has been reversed (+ has contraflow cycling).

Southbound (timed) bus gate on Chatsworth Rd West end of Clifden Rd. Previously it was 'no entry' here.

Status of the works further inside Westbourne Green.

The segregated 🚲🚶path and the parallel towpath here will get tackled later on, including removal of railings between them.
maclondon.bsky.social
Access to Westbourne Green is currently via Rowington Close with a short dismount section beside the church.
maclondon.bsky.social
The contraflow doesn't seem to officially extend down Lord Hills Rd (pic 1), although that is the only current way to get to the start of the signed contraflow.

Entry to Westbourne Green here is currently closed for improvement works.

Improvement works between Little Venice and Grand Union Canal towpath.

Sustrans have had intentions to extend NCN6 (from Uxbridge) to Paddington Station using TfL's planned canal route.

Delamere Terrace finally got 🥁contraflow cycling recently.

The parallel crossing just north of Steele's Rd has gone in along C6.

Not the widest one... and some might be critical of the location of one of the Belishas.

As there is no advance warning to cyclists that the gate on the cycle track is closed and (currently) limited links to the roadway to the north of the gate, southbound cyclists in particular have little option but to use the narrow pavement to bypass the gate.
maclondon.bsky.social
When I passed through here it was 30 minutes into the match and the street was very quiet.

The current cycleway construction area is already a significant barrier to vehicles. No reason (at present) to keep this gate on the cycle track still closed until maybe crowds start to leave the stadium.
