In this respect BUGONIA reminds me of THE EMPTY MAN, a well-made, engrossing movie with a conceptually interesting ending that is in no way prepared for by the preceding film.

Me and my co-producer Sean, back when we used to sometimes play basketball with our friends, would arrange to be on opposite teams guarding each other so we could mostly just stand center-court and talk about movies.

It also slightly complicates OP's comparison that Mamdani speaks far more eloquently about the danger of ICE than the Minority Leader does.
