This volume was very much about healing from trauma and navigating relationships in a healthy way - romantic and familial

As always. I really enjoyed seeing the Sea witch!

REVIEW This volume needed to come with some serious trigger warnings for pregnancy! Let's just say that Toby gets as bloody as normal, even when she is 8 months pregnant.
I really enjoyed seeing the full gang again. I always enjoy seeing them run headlong into danger, it's thrilling!

I'm deep down a Dungeon Crawler Carl hole. I wonder if I'm able to free myself from the gravity well before I run out of published books in the series

I think I might have to read her back catalogue.
I'm going to nominate the Incandesce for the Hugo's next year

It was just so good! Did you read her 'Some Desperate Glory'? It was also magnificent

It's such a deep take on cultural Imperialism

I want to nominate The Incandescent for the Hugos and I want a special edition!

I was kicking my feet with joy reading the book and I talked to anyone who would listen.

The pacing really worked ! It sucked me in and kept it was not just a rising tide, but me guessing - had real highs and lows throughout. There were very tense action sequences and slow quiet parts.

The Incandescent has me thinking more about being a teacher than my non-fiction course reading for my teacher training seeing your own, profession, this lovingly portrayed, but with teeth is so rare.

It's twisty, dense and has a lot to say on education and on how we as adults view our work. I adored Dr Warden, She is very far from perfect, but she is competence porn the other professionals at work - the in action and so are make mistakes, but not out of a lack of skill.

REVIEW: This book is written for me, right now. I have been sighing for this book for years: A magical school book from the teacher's perspective - and it's fucking good! It's an adult perspective on the whole private boarding school concept.
