Their editors will discuss what they are doing to connect to their communities and to cover the news in these difficult times. A screenshot of today’s New York Times report by Peter Baker. Baker’s lede contrasts the weeks-long “scandal” after a “furor erupted over reports” in 1994 that Hillary Clinton had made $100,000 on an investment 12 years earlier with the $28 million Melania Trump is pocketing from a film deal with Jeff Bezos, which, according to Baker, nobody gave a damn about. I have annotated the screenshot to note that Baker’s reference to Clinton’s profits hyperlinks a front-page 1994 New York Times article, while Baker’s reference to Melania’s profits hyperlinks a Wall Street Journal report, because the NYT did not cover the profits.
