I’ve haven’t seen another suit head that pops this much. The maker did a great job giving Ricky dimension. Every one of these shots show the range of emotion you could interpret from him at any angle.
What’s most impressive to me is that he’s visually illuding me into seeing him outlined in ink.

I imagine most of the people upset at the removal think we should constantly be riled up at best or they’re just plain bigots.

If the aims of the anthology is to keep the vibes feel-good, sure, remove it all together. Save it for a more candid documentary.

I can understand wanting to avoid it if you find it triggering or don’t want the music or broader mythos of The Fab Four ruined. I avoid these things too sometimes, but I don’t think John deserves the stain removal

Not if they’re in the headspace to handle it, hence the content warning. If they don’t want to see it they deserve to know it’s there and when to skip it.
And I don’t think it’s good in general, but I still think it’s important to show even The Beatles held problematic beliefs of their time.

I can agree with the outrage on the grounds of ensuring an accurate portrayal of what kind of guy John was, warts and all. Disney already has disclaimers and content warnings.
I wouldn’t want new fans having a false image of John being a “cooler”, more respectful guy than he actually was.
