I cleared Windward Wilds EX yesterday and while the fight itself is very fun, I don’t know if I’ll come back to it as much as the other Extremes.
It‘s only slightly harder than the Normal one imho, and it drops twice the scales, so it might be preferable to running Normal constantly.

Thank you to the Mamool Ja society quests for giving me the most lore-accurate dialogue option I can get for my catboy.
Any future WoL questions, I can now handily have this image on hand for an answer.

Arhyz originally had very floofy hair to match my irl cat. At some point post-2.0 ARR, I swapped to straighter hair. Almost every change to him later on had a reason behind it. Just not this one, iirc.

I spent way more time on this than I should have, but this is the differences between the cat npcs in ffxiv and ffxi that I’ve observed so far

friend and I did the postgame Alexander fight to tie up one of the loose ends. We got the Empress her brother back, after he was sitting alone in the void for a couple days. Now we gotta go talk to Odin about Luzaf.

And so Treasures of Aht Urhgan comes to a close.
I don't feel this one hit the same highs for me as Chains did, but it was a fairly straightforward adventure story with a much quirkier cast. I think I enjoyed the narrative and setting for it the most out of the expansions so far.
Elyasy, an Elvaan clad in violet Eastern attire, squares off against Alexander, a hulking mechanical monstrosity. Jets of steam bellow forth from Alexander's malfunctioning form. Luzaf, an Elvaan man with jet black hair and bejeweled pirate clothes cradles a blonde young girl in regal raiment. He holds his hand out to her, light shining forth, as he transfers the very energy which gave him life into her motionless body. Text reads Luzaf: "It is time I returned to serve you in the halls of Valhalla..." My player avatar in Final Fantasy XI places an imaginary crown on the young empress' head, a symbolic way of bestowing her blessing upon the girl.

Treasures of Aht Urhgan campaign continues, in which the plot fully kicks off. A deposed debonair pirate prince learns to fight for something other than revenge, Odin makes his grand appearance, and our cutthroat, money-grubbing boss turns out to be a complete tsundere.
