Are there really people who can get a haircut and just go about their day? They don't have to rush home and take a shower to get the hair off?

Various members of the family have been down sick all week. K4 just fully got it this morning. Everything smells like Lysol and I am very, very tired of it.

That side character? He's the romantic lead now.
I’m curious, if you are a professional writer who wrote/writes fan fiction… what did you specialize in?

Mine was crackfic, character study and asexual romance.

Terrible comedian experience update: MIL indicated that she & everyone else was surprised at the "political junk" (her words) since they knew the comedian from 30 yrs ago when her jokes were about raising kids, etc, and reiterated she'd never knowingly put me in an uncomfortable situation. Love her.

K1 is 13, which means he obviously knows more than me about every topic. HOWEVER, I could not let it stand when he tried to tell me about playing the Zerg in StarCraft. Child, I have been OMGzergrushing since well before you were born.

Anyway he found out I know what I'm doing.

Monthly reminder: Many people have a book in them, but it takes a special kind of freak to leave the Land of Laziness, cross the Plains of Procrastination and Insecurity Mountain, find the Blade of No One Made You Do This, and use it to cut your chest open and yank that book out.

Went with my MIL, SIL, and aunt-in-law to see a Christian comedian. The first part was boomer jokes ("men are so dumb") mixed with MAGA greatest hits ("Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve"). Thankfully I'd brought a notebook and got some writing done during the second part.

Half of the fam did a Hadestown family costume and while I look middling as Persephone (because I look middling in everything) my youngest son was a killer Orpheus and my husband was an absolute hottie of a Hades.

I talked a writing puzzle out with my husband and then thanked him. He said "Honestly, I kind of tuned out. I heard 'I wrote myself into a problem' and then a bunch of mumbling and 'oh, never mind, I solved it'. So...you're welcome?"
