Rare earths are actually quite common - for instance there is more Cerium than Copper on earth. But they are not often found in economically-recoverable deposits.

Rare-earth elements aren’t super rare. They’re rarer than carbon, but they’re not as rare as something like plutonium.

Rare earths are actually quite common - for instance there is more Cerium than Copper on earth. But they are not often found in economically-recoverable deposits.
