📣THREAD: It’s surprising to me that so many people were surprised to learn that Signal runs partly on AWS (something we can do because we use encryption to make sure no one but you–not AWS, not Signal, not anyone–can access your comms).

It’s also concerning. 1/
PSA: we're aware that Signal is down for some people. This appears to be related to a major AWS outage. Stand by.

Cowardly. And so square. Government is just so afraid of catchy civil disobedience. Shows the need for political, angry music.

Hey, petitions work! Councillor Moise moves to WITHDRAW his motion requesting a change to the AGCO process for issuing non-profit special occasion permits. The withdrawal carries. No change will be requested. secure.toronto.ca/council/agen...

Poilievre continues to sloganeer without really explaining how his policies will really affect Canadians. I made a handy tool to help you translate what he actually means by "Axe the Tax" or "Stop the Crime." Introducing the "Verb the Noun" translator: maggie.coffee/pp/

Oh, you aren't organizing? Well, there's your problem. Start there.

Start where?

Literally anywhere. Look at your community and find people doing work and ask to get involved. Or start something yourself. Save a big old local tree or something -- it doesn't matter. Just start somewhere.

This is SHOCKING. Among everything else that’s despicable about this, ITS A CLEAR ADMISSION THAT THEY KNOW THAT DOING THIS WILL OBVIOUSLY ENDANGER LIVES.

People rode bikes on these streets before the bike-lanes (albeit fewer) and they will again after. The inevitable blood will be on Ford’s hands.

It fills me with despair how much Doug Ford wants to harm his constituents. People will die without the OPS. People will die without the bike lanes. Now we won't be able to sue if that happens? He's proved he doesn't care.
