This is the story of how our government abandoned the people of Louisiana and the South.

As children of the Acadians from Novia Scotia who were forcibly removed from their homeland, we know persecution and resistance: it's written on our hearts.
Well, hot damn.

We're finally having the conversation that the South is part of the Union and deserves national political Democratic investment.

Too bad it took losing to an Authoritarian President to get attention down here.

We will take it, but again, damn.

Come and get Louisiana votes.

In Mississippi, there is a bill which will imprison every captured “illegal immigrant” for life. This will free the state to use them as a slave labor force. Christians must not stand and do nothing; they must fight against this evil: www.patheos.com/blogs/henryk...

But, oil companies can rape our water and soil just fine.

Picture it.

Louisiana, ranking 47th in education, has a little pathetic wannabe Governor who got his feelings hurt when LSU professor talked about the things Trump has done. Now the professor is on administrative leave.

Did you hear the part about us being 47th in education?

Sir, your moral compass is broken.

Unbelievable.

Ben is completely right.

Democrats have failed to serve the south and rural communities.

Swing state obsessions ain't it, folks.

You need the South. And honestly, you owe South an apology and your attention.

Come to Louisiana. We will boil you some crawfish while talking about public policy.
In rural communities, Democrats need to show up. We need to listen. And we need to organize and communicate year-round.

Hope you'll read this powerful piece by Danielle Johnson—a rural Dem leader in WI—about our vision to unite, fight, and win everywhere.

Imagine the DMV line now when we have to apply for citizenship every 4 years. I hope my male chaperone doesn't forget my papers.
Please arm yourself with knowledge. Birthright citizenship is not a policy choice it is a constitutional imperative (14th Amendment). It can no more be signed away by Executive Order than the First Amendment.
Now that attacking birthright citizenship has become a Day 1 project for the incoming Trump admin, I dug out this rather comprehensive piece I wrote in 2011. It includes the source of Sen. Lindsay Graham’s emergence as the pitch man on this issue. politicalresearch.org/2011/03/01/c...
