#2025ISMPMI 📣 In silico screening of PRR-epitope interactions is now possible!

Here, we developed mamp-ml to predict their immunogenic outcomes without structural context. Let's accelerate engineering plant receptors for robust resistance! 🚀🌱 Small 🧵

mamp-ml: A deep learning approach to epitope immunogenicity in plants
Eukaryotes detect biomolecules through surface-localized receptors, key signaling components. A subset of receptors survey for pathogens, induce immunity, and restrict pathogen growth. Comparative gen...

I am looking for a (bio)chemist to join the lab and help us making affinity-based probes for proteases! The project is truly interdisciplinary with a strong computational chemistry component, peptide synthesis and plant biochemistry!
Text me if interested and please spread the word!

The Goss Lab is at #2025ISMPMI! Come see our posters on Phytophthora palmivora virulence (P-271), cacao defense responses (P-022), and Xanthomonas evolution (P-300). Let’s connect and chat about plant-pathogen interactions, genomics, and cacao 🍫#

This is the first time I've attended the meeting. Thank you to the organizers for this incredible opportunity. #OMGN2025 Indeed @dromius.bsky.social #Phytophthora palmivora is so fascinating.
#OMGN2025 Mariana Herrera Corzo also works on 87 isolates of the arguably most interesting plant pathogen.

#OMGN2025 Ina Schlathoelter contributed to saving chocolate by studying how cacao pods respond to its Phytophthora pathogens. Some cocoa varieties/clones are differentially resistant to palmivora GH49 and megakarya GH34.
