good! i don't want Avatar night at the ballpark, i don't want to see commercials for the Avatar meal at Wendy's, i don't want to see a huge uptick in blonde dreadlocks.
The huge box office is what makes it such a paradox. Everyone sees them, and then what? No “May the Force be with you,” no Quidditch, no MCU-like fan theorizing. Compared to the other franchises of its scale, it has weirdly little hold over the popular imagination. I repeat: “Jake Sully.”
