Every time I get my own life together the world starts falling apart a little more.

I get to start my dream job Monday after five years, four surgeries, three therapists,got sober from two substances, and one masters degree! Whew. Change is scary but so, so good. Grateful for the love that got me here!

Some grief tips for you this holiday season.
How To Survive The Holidays Especially After Your Mom Dies - Do not fight with the fact that you WILL be grieving this holiday season. You can celebrate alongside your grief! The harder you try not to share space with the inevitable, the harder the holidays will become. - Honor and celebrate the whole person, not their parts. The would’ve, could’ve, should’ve’s will seep into the spaces you leave. - Family time can be hard. Try your best to appreciate people made an effort to come together, but stoicism can help you get through some of the more rough conversations. It’s okay to walk away and take space— or the rest of the day! - Set up some expectations with key family members. “Here’s how I’ve been feeling and what I’m expecting of myself, so if you see ____ that’s why. What I need in those moments is _____.” It helps having people in your corner, helping your grieve! Not stopping you from it. -Recognize it’s hard. That’s the hard part.
