I couldn’t do that. I was a person who liked the warm and not the cold!

But I went cos y’know, content.

The cold water crept up my sad skin, for several paragraphs.

I was *alive, alive, alive*, like a journalist going in a pond.

Soon the shock subsided, leaving a cold, hard, gleaming, immutable truth at the very core of my inner soul:

This was bloody horrible.
