And I also have to post this cheeky little chives plant. It is growing in the middle of a path, in the way, and I don’t understand how it got there, but it’s my friend now. 🌱

And this year is the first year that my kanuka have flowered, and it’s great! I got this one in the post rolled up in newspaper as a little seedling from a nursery in Northland. 🌱

Here’s the first dahlia of the season just opening up. Last year this one really struggled in the dry and with the rabbits, but after loads of mulch and water, this year it’s doing OK! 🌱

Found some photos from the 2000s and was sad they were in a shoebox, so I stuck them all to my office bathroom wall between the flamingos. Found an old folded up painting too.

This shows the new distribution overall a bit better. Still pockets of tribes inland, but most are now along rivers or coastlines. It's both more realistic, and provides much more interesting and scenic starting locations. The rivers provide fast transport between villages for trade/conflict too.

It was really tricky to find rivers to place the tribe locations, given how the rivers are generated. I managed to get quite close algorithmically, but I can't reverse the perlin noise based offsets, so it takes a few iterations heading downhill too.
