When I was a kid I got beaten up often for being Jewish & had swastikas drawn on my desk almost daily.

When my daughter was in school the teacher hung up a boys project on Adolf Hitler as his most admired historical figure.

Ariel Cunio is one of four Cunio brothers who was born and raised at Kibbutz Nir Oz. He lived there with his girlfriend, Arbel Yehud, another Nir Oz native. Both were taken as hostages by Hamas on October 7th.

The deadliest day for Jewish people since the Holocaust.

The situation in the Middle East is heartbreaking—so much suffering.

When Hamas terrorists attacked Israel, killed & raped its citizens & took 251 hostages they unleashed tremendous violence.

Tomorrow will mark 2 years since October 7th. And yet, it still feels like yesterday.

We buried too many.
We held too many broken families.
And somehow, we kept going.
Because what else can you do when the alternative is giving in?

We’ve changed. All of us.
We carry something inside us now — something heavier, but also holier, than ever before.

A deeper understanding of who we are, what this land means, and what it costs to hold it.

We’ve seen the worst of humanity.
But we’ve also seen the best of our nation — the courage and the faith that refuses to die.

Even through pain, even through tears, we still hope.
We still sing.
We still build.
We still believe.

Two years later and the wound is still open.

But maybe that’s the real miracle —
that even after everything, we still believe in tomorrow.
