Then and now: Metroid Prime.
Boring but RE4 then and now. A perfect game. I really enjoyed Future Perfect at the time though and Chaos Theory remains one of the best stealth games.

Boring but RE4 then and now. A perfect game. I really enjoyed Future Perfect at the time though and Chaos Theory remains one of the best stealth games.
Then, Pokemon Diamond. Now, Hitman Blood Money. I was hyped about Zelda TP ever since the 2004 reveal trailer and I didnt even finish it until the HD port. It's not a bad game but it's so much worse than the prior 3D Zeldas. Also the ugliest.

Then, Pokemon Diamond. Now, Hitman Blood Money. I was hyped about Zelda TP ever since the 2004 reveal trailer and I didnt even finish it until the HD port. It's not a bad game but it's so much worse than the prior 3D Zeldas. Also the ugliest.

Then and now: Wipeout HD. GTA IV a close second at the time but I struggle to get back into it on replays these day.

Then and now: Wipeout HD. GTA IV a close second at the time but I struggle to get back into it on replays these day.
Back then I had a great time on Guitar Hero: Metallica and (first place) The Beatles Rock Band. I think this was probably the peak time for sales of physical video games and consoles over PCs, or so it felt. Now its maybe Demon Souls but I'm really thinking of the remake so Uncharted 2 it is.

Weird one this, I feel like a lot of these were good or great at the time but have either been outdone by sequels or just not held up. At the time it would have been Deus Ex HR, now it would be Portal 2 by a pretty big margin.
Then: Until Dawn but honestly i barely played any 2015 games at the time. Now: Bloodborne.
I've tried The Witcher 3 but bounced off it due to the character movement being absolutely atrocious imo. Which is a shame because even 5 hours in I could tell the writing was good but gah is it overhyped.
