Not an exaggeration at all to say that the feeling in Minneapolis is that the entire metro area is being treated as occupied territory by federal agents. Impossible to overstate how overwhelmingly people here do not like it. This does not feel sustainable.

i'm polish-american and was raised to view things like theater, opera, art galleries, philharmonic performances etc as things that normal, working-class people attend and appreciate too. it really warms my heart that some politicians don't have complete contempt for their constituents' intelligence

The government is saying that violence rules. That snatching foreign leaders and territories, and shooting US citizens in their cars at point blank range, is justified. That resistance is not only futile, it is dangerous. They can say these things. But they cannot force us to believe them.
