It is so frustrating to listen to family members defend their decision to vote for GOP. They truly believe the 🟠🤡 is going to "fix" our corrupt government.

I am feeling down. I don't know if it's because of the end of our democracy or because so many still argue that things are okay. Maybe it's a combination.

A few years ago, I had the opportunity to attend a Nikki Giovanni event as part of the Traverse City National Writer's Series. She was blunt, had no more f**s to give, and kept the audience in stitches with her humor. I'm so glad I got to see her in person. She was a treasure. #NikkiGiovanni
