in the final episode of gundam leg the masked char guy runs through the hero’s gundam with a beam sword before realizing far too late that the gundam’s cockpit is in the leg. the hero then delivers a powerful kick that winds up killing both of them in one of the series trademark bittersweet endings

Every techie dies on this hill where they want social media users to want, do, and expect things convenient for them rather than their lived reality. Social media requires social solutions, not just tech, but only the tech side is ever represented, as if it will magically solve all other problems.

I think the biggest difference between The Internet Then and The Internet Now is how Being Mad Online used to be the one thing you could never admit to, under pain of death, and now, Being Mad Online is a whole career path with a skill tree and an ever-expanding variety of debuffs.

I don’t know man lot of people have been capriciously banned or suspended for not violating the ToS, it’s clearly less about that and more about a personal point of pride and not letting your user base win. Kinda hard to read it any other way.

i don't mean to single out baseball fans here, because you see this in lots of fan communities, but in certain corners people talk as though baseball is real. they think all the players are real people and the stadiums are places you can actually visit. to each their own, but that cannot be healthy
