Look into what’s been going on with the pierce county ferry and help find a solution. It should be state run. It’s getting so expensive middle and lower income people are getting cut off from the mainland. $24 for a 20 minute ferry ride is highway robbery Especially for commuters.

On one hand it feels really shitty to be discriminated against and on the other hand now I’m super worried that due to how weird they got on the other end that my phone number was put on some watchlist as being gender conforming. I’m just getting more and more nervous as political things escalate.

For sure. We need alternatives. But when people have to crowdfund even getting their kid a wheelchair or other mobility aid…...let’s just say it doesn’t give me much hope.

I’m not into debating why this is inaccessible. I’ve already stated that I am a huge proponent of cycling. I was a bicycle mechanic for many years volunteered at a bike coop rebuilding bikes to get into the community. I’m now disabled. The cycling community is inaccessible to disabled folks.

I have not seen them at that price. However, I still maintain that $1200-1500 is still way way above many peoples budget especially if the person is on a fixed income.

I am aware of e-bikes. Ebikes are helpful but also $$$$ so less accessible to people on a fixed income. And it’s not avoiding capitalism buying a $5k e-bike. Not like you can build an e-bike at the local bike co-op.

They will not erase us. We’ve been around for all of time and we will continue to be around for all of time. This just makes us have to fight harder. It makes life a little harder but we will prevail in the end.
