maintain those bonds with your community members but never collude with police. Don’t attend “national night out” that serves as copaganda but build your own events with your neighbors! Having popo centered anywhere weakens movements and connections historically and by design.

I’m glad you have a good community right now… that is soo important! But it is a tactic by the state to build trust between police n citizens so that they have greater ease in surveillance, so they can erase people and have the community “trust” that they did it to keep them safe n don’t question it

they aren’t on “our side” though… neither historically nor currently. Police exist to surveil and subdue us to protect the state. that is their job. Anyone in uniform is there to uphold the system that degrades us all… to make these protests about them is antithetical to all of our liberation.

we don’t need cops to have a protest. we keep each other safe. historically, those personnel cause and escalate violence. Organizers on April 19th should emphasize that no police presence is necessary at the demonstration, and is unwanted.

And remember that under authoritarian rule there is no “right way” to behave or exist. In fact, that narrative is in harmful alignment with fascism. The system wants subservience, thrives on your adherence to racist/ableist rules, and can revoke your protections arbitrarily. Never obey in advance. 💗
