the australian news landscape, the home ground of the murdoch family, has just been depressing to read all this week. I normally read it as a bit of a breather from US chaos but watching mainstream news all repeat views stating that justifiable criticism of israel is anti-semitism is wild to me
This is, of course, racist nonsense. But I want to focus on one thing:
it is not vilifying to call a genocide a genocide.
Saying, for instance, that Netanyahu is a corrupt war criminal, isn't vilifying him. It's stating a fact.

rushed russ to the vet this morning as he hadn't peed properly in 24 hours, which can be p dangerous for an elderly male cat. his pee test initially normal, has been sent for further analysis, but he doesn't have other symptoms so the vet was puzzled

Every so often I'm reminded that during high school I was a fan of the then-blogger/columnist Andrew Sullivan, lol. His writing used to be thoughtful and funny. He was one of the reasons I even got interested in reading about global news, growing up with state-owned media. Now, sigh
