Unfortunately I think we all know the reason.

Companies think they can make more money by not paying a fair wage and stealing labor by laundering the theft through GenAI.

I feel like when they start spewing that shit off, the therapist in my head is nodding and jotting a few things down.

But in his mind, the only reason someone would wear it is to live out their bank robbing or mass shooting fantasy, which says more about him than someone who just wants to be as safe as possible in a world where the gov actively shoots unarmed civilians.

We've all seen videos of cops shooting first and faking the reports later, esp. when the victim wasn't armed at all, and body armor could have helped.

Or maybe I have a stalker, too. Or attending a protest that might see violent action and I'm not armed but want to protect myself from riot police.

Also the fact that his argument of "expecting law enforcement to shoot at you" is EXACTLY a great and valid reason to wear it!

I have a right to not instantly die if ICE or the popo get trigger happy, and not because I'm planning on doing anything illegal but just going about my day.
