The best way to "restart the world's idea machine" is to ensure that people have secure sources of food and shelter. No one except rich psychopaths have the time and energy to spare for ideas these days, the rest of us are just trying to survive.

Why do they need recycling bags, and is my province monstrous because we just put our recycling straight into the bins with no bags at all, these are mysteries that we may never solve

Anyway, other than when she decided her surgery pajamas had gotten too smelly, she was pretty comfortable in them. It was so much better than leaving her angry in a cone for the two weeks she had to wait for her stitches to come out, but that didn't stop her from judging me a little bit

Ugh, the package I saved
December 5, 2025 at 1:46 AM
It look a bit to find the package if saved with all the instructions, but it was called After Surgery Wear, and I got it from the pharmacy at my vet's office. There's a couple of smaller sizes, because Mako is six pounds but long

They were very good for my little grump, she came out from under the bed and was pretty normal. I'd recommend getting two, though, Mako would wear hers for about 2-3 days before she decided she needed laundry done, and then she'd Houdini her way out of it, so a spare for laundry day was very useful

I ended up getting surgery onesies for my cat after her last surgery because the soft cone I got her just made her so angry. When it was on, she would hide under the bed and she'd only come out grudgingly for treats

The Trollhunters and Wizards: Tales of Arcadia series on Netflix have a whole lot of Arthuriana scattered about in them, although it is more in the later series of Trollhunters. There's a lot of stuff scattered through the older Librarians TV series, which is fun but not always well researched.

I just had to disappoint a grandpa this past weekend, he just wanted a KPop Demon Hunters book for his granddaughter and there isn't anything out until December 30th

The Howl's Moving Castle series holds up really well on the minimal racism/sexism front if they haven't read those, and there's a new series by ND Stevenson (who is responsible for Nimona and the Netflix She-ra series) called Scarlet Morning that should be amazing

Also I can't for the life of me remember who had originally shared that article, so if it was you I definitely apologize

Turns out picketing and working a second job is a lot and I am just very very tired now

I was reading this article just a little while ago, about how the education system has been failing to teach reading, and I can't help but wonder if that is related www.apmreports.org/episode/2019...
How a flawed idea is teaching millions of kids to be poor readers
For decades, schools have taught children the strategies of struggling readers, using a theory about reading that cognitive scientists have repeatedly debunked. And many teachers and parents don't kno...
