Usual reminder: decisions like this don't mean that AI can do the job of a human translator; they mean that some C-suite creature who is basically a LinkedIn profile wrapped in ham and an expensive suit has decided it provides an alibi for paying human translators less money for less rewarding work.

I tried two software resets while driving just to get GPS back. Nothing worked. So there I was, manually driving in terrible conditions, unsure of positioning, no assistance, no guidance. And it genuinely felt unsafe. For me and for the people in the car. Then it hit me. This feeling - the stress, the uncertainty, the margin for error - this is how most drivers feel every single day. I do understand: you want permission. There’s a machine in the corner wrapped in human skin that makes things out of shit and blood to look like whatever you want (as long as you don’t look too closely). You gave one to your teacher and they didn’t notice. Your boss told you to use it after they laid off half the team and it was fine. You fed one to your kids and they liked it. You want to know you can use it sometimes without me thinking less of you. You don’t need me to believe it’s useful, you just want me to be polite about it. But I am a hater, and I will not be polite. The machine is disgusting and we should break it. The people who build it are vapid shit-eating cannibals glorifying ignorance. I strongly feel that this is an insult to life itself.

After working in tech, I suspect that there's a lot of companies and projects that never validated their core assumptions. They... didn't like it when I asked if they'd done any due diligence for projects, or if there was a use case or business plan, or if they'd even spoken to the users.
