Old Man Bad Takes
Henry sounds vaguely familiar to me as well, but I can't place him. Hell, the only reason I can place Divish's voice is simply because I happen to be watching Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood now.

Anyway, if the games industry can't adapt to the needs of customers who haven't seen their income increase relative to their needs in decades, it deserves to collapse under its own weight. The AAA industry, in particular, is dealing with self-made problems and it can rot in poverty.

I'm thinking the mod might've have over-corrected; not throughout the entire game, just the first level ninjas. When I did the run through OG Black, I *assumed* it was Sigma itself that screwed up the balancing, but apparently no.

Now, Sigma is considered easier in general, so my not struggling now wouldn't be weird; the problem is that, at the time, I also did the first stage of OG Black on an XBOX emulator and that was, comparatively, a breeze as well.

If it's the latter (and I'm afraid that it is), then Konami is treating this as a throw-away spinoff. The game's description on Steam points to that as well. Still charging 80 Euros, of course, because Konami still sucks and don't let them convince you otherwise.

And, again, this sucks, because in terms of atmosphere, story-telling, horror set-pieces, sound design, even puzzles (mostly), this thing is a goddamn masterpiece, I haven't enjoyed a game like this that wasn't a RPG in years.

Which, again, might've been fine, if combat itself didn't have three different resources to manage. I mean, how many different "sanity restoration" items do I need and why? Hell, why does the game need a sanity meter and a stamina meter? Pace yourself, you're a horror game. It's all so tedious.

Most of the game my inventory is taken up by things I can't even enshrine, so I just keep discarding stuff; which is fine, I get what you're going for, but the game really wants to shift focus to combat, so it saddles you with way too many combat-related items.

I'm at the point that picking up a health kit makes me disappointed, because the bloody things take up an entire block in the inventory. There's resources I haven't even picked up at all from the start of the game because of this.

The breakable weapons (which you carry three of), the upgrade system, the inventory system, the minutiae of the combat system; none of them add anything to the experience, in fact they often detract from it. It sucks, because everything surrounding the actual gameplay is top-tier.

Youtube Movies, on the other hand, can fuck off. Five goddamn Euros for a two-day-rental and the thing doesn't even have closed captions (let alone regional subs)? Even if I were a native speaker, I wouldn't have been able to make out every line of dialogue.
Fuck you, Google.
