Hoodoo was a vibrant topic of conversation in my Multi-Religious Studies class. I recommend this book by Yvonne P. Chireau, Associate Professor of Religion at Swarthmore College.
It examines the meaning of Conjure, the AA tradition of healing and harming that evolved during slavery to now.
