Never imply that the adult survivor is to blame for their childhood abuse. Nothing a child has ever done, no matter how provocative, is justification for abuse. The abuser ALWAYS carries responsibility for the abuse. It is a criminal act.

When God’s people worship separate and untouched by suffering, they are not worshiping the God of the Scriptures. There is nothing in the Scriptures to suggest that being complicit, neutral, or uncaring and deaf to the cries of humans is godly.

Just as we never forget those who turned away, failed to listen, disbelieved, or changed the way they treated us,
we never forget those who listened, gave us enough time, and made us feel it was safe, in every sense of the word, to disclose child sexual abuse. #CSA

Pleased to contribute to this. The economic consequences of surviving CSA are hard to quantify as each survivor is different, but in my case surviving becaming more expensive as time went on, for me and for the state -exacerbated by continued poor systems responses. #CSA

It is a grievous failure of those who claim to be the people of God when they not only fail to be a sanctuary for the traumatized, but also create the need for one.

We can all agree these men are terrible people who committed atrocious acts but I want to point out that medical misogyny played a role

Gisele KNEW something was wrong. She went to her doctors on multiple occasions. She was gaslit & led to believe she had Alzheimer’s. She deserved better. We all do
Gisele Pelicot, Medical Misogyny and How Disabled People Face Increased Risk of Abuse
Most of us have heard Gisele's story. It's a reminder that even men you trust can harm you. Did you know that she went to her doctors for help? A look at how medical misogyny contributed to her abuse.

Whenever a minister uses temporal distancing tactics by claiming the abusive scenario took place XX years ago, my first thought is, why did it take XX years to publicly repent, lament, and step down from ministry? The more years it took to supposedly repent, the worse it looks.
