Another stop in the non-intervention tour. In 1968, Wenceslas Square in Prague became a focal point of resistance against the Soviet-led invasion of Czechoslovakia. After the Prague Spring was suppressed, Brezhnev proclaimed his doctrine of limited sovereignty.

Another stop on the #nonintervention tour. The Nyon Agreement was signed on 14 Sept 1937. Nyon was chosen to avoid association with the League of Nations, which was viewed unfavorably by Italy. The agreement addressed attacks on international shipping during the Spanish Civil War

The growing normalization of violations of international humanitarian law poses an existential threat to int'l law.

We invite states to step up to their responsibility, reverse this trend & join our global initiative to reinvigorate political commitment for #IHL.

Communities uprooted. Families torn apart.
Vital infrastructure destroyed.

As conflicts escalate worldwide – from Gaza to Sudan, Myanmar to Ukraine – civilians are bearing the brunt.

Emerging threats – autonomous weapons, cyber warfare – are compounding the challenges.
