you do not get to reap the storied benefits of journalism, education, information, literacy - the main one being an informed, creative, autonomous, democratic citizenry - while ALSO embracing the hyperbolic, click-bait ass, "everything is (my) content," "its okay when MY fave politician lies" hustle

but also in activist/political discourse...and it's why i'm staying on my "it's not a mass literacy/critical thinking/covid brain crisis - it's the 'find out' phase of a culture that embraced misinformation/lying" hill.

I struggled to articulate my problems with the cultural impacts of "hot takes" discourse (esp in podcasting/radio journalism) and the popular hyperbolic headlining in reporting and engagement-focused 'social media speak' (not just shitposting).
