my mentor just came in and asked whether i always need so many different drinks to feel less lonely when i am giving a full-day online-only loneliness workshop 😅 but i really enjoyed it (and i hope the participants did as well). now happy and tired off into the weekend!

das war übrigens gestern sehr gut und auch sehr gut besucht, was mich gefreut hat. (und in der reihe gibt es noch 2 weitere termine!) habe leider keine fotos von vortragsfolien gemacht, obwohl die super waren; nur vom schild, über das wir kurz lachen mussten.

delighted to see this published 🙌 using EMA, we (with @roryoc.bsky.social) investigated suicidal ideation in daily life. we found that it arises from an interaction of within-person increases in loneliness and an individual’s level of personality functioning psycnet.apa.org/fulltext/202...

still not so sure whether this is the right way to greet new students, or whether it has potential to either foster narcissism or social anxiety (depending on how you’re inclined)… but perhaps that's just me.

whirlwind of a weekend: spent 15 hrs on the train, gave a talk on loneliness at the meeting of the german society for suicide prevention in bayreuth, went to the frankfurt theatre (e.t.a. hoffmann’s “der sandmann”, fantastic!), almost got run over by the apple wine express, and had great thai food 🥰
