Very true. I'm not disputing that, and honestly, I took that as a given. However, control or not, if you test something past when it resolves naturally, the experiment is broken. It might be better to look at using a different example in the base question where the experiment setup is the only flaw.

Interesting quiz. I got two wrong: one taught me something and one I do not agree with. If mild ear infections last one to two weeks, testing the efficacy of a treatment by treating for two weeks then determining success by how many don't have an ear infection is why antibiotic abuse is so common.
