This is solid advice I've followed several times in my career. The reverse is also true. If something isn't working, don't be afraid to revisit your old processes. The reason you abandoned them might no longer be true. Or, in my case, you may have cast aside old ways on a whim and are now drowning.
For those doing NaNoWriMo -- or, honestly, those just writing anything at all, ever -- some thoughts about how we can overly mythologize our own process and how sometimes you gotta blow it all up.
