I have to say when i took a punt on this Margo Guryan Numero boxed set a wee while back i was slightly underwhelmed. Her soft whispery vocal style has been done to death in recent adverts with awful simpering female singers/covers.
However i think the 3 discs are amazing now, and way above that.

Morning all, yup it's still 11:32am here.
Some of my earliest vinyl rips were a smallish collection of Kenyon Hopkins albums. They could probably do with remastering much like Hopkins himself. He had a troubled life later on.
I did start to write, but it needed more time than I had then.

Taylor was looking to Billy Vera and Vera's sister Kathy McCord as a starting point for a more transcendent sound. Their were a number of threads to the effort including Margo Guryan, Dave Frishberg and Guryan's husband David Rosner of the huge April-Blackwood artist and song agency.
