My deep gratitude to @leedsucu.bsky.social for doing this. As a survivor of sexual assault & harassment by my PhD supervisor who worked in the same institution as me and was a ucu member. As was I and when I complained UCU they did nothing because as you say 'such relationships are complicated '.

Clue 1: They were sanctioned by the HSE for a failure to address stress in 2023.

Clue 2: They still can't demonstrate compliance with statutory minimum safety legislation in 2025.

It's not so much an 'internal row' as serial abuse. The power imbalance is causing the toxicity. As delegatee to Congresses and conferences, also members of the NEC we have both experienced and witnessed the toxicity. No wonder there are extremely high levels of sickness and absences. #reclaimucu

I remember this well. Unite UCU members gave shocking accounts of treatment by UCU SMT. Some of which I have witnessed. The alternative social event was 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
