Did you know?

There’s a directory of Black farmers: “The Black Farmers Index.”

Buy and uplift local. Many are small-scale specialists and located in urban areas. I found an organic resource in my area that I will definitely check out.

What if our media was reporting on a different country?

Junta: a military or political group that rules a country after taking power by force.

Oligarch: a very rich business leader with a great deal of political influence

Parliament: a formal conference for the discussion of public affairs.
Musk's Junta Establishes Him as Head of Government
Imagining how we'd cover overseas what's happening to the U.S. right now

I’m a part time librarian and I just want to echo what I’ve seen other librarians say recently: there is a HUGE uptick in requests for social justice, climate justice, abolition, history, etc books and I just want to say nobody is giving up the fight. If anything people are fighting harder #library

100% this right here.
The cognitive dissonance of getting up every morning and making coffee and walking the dog and going to meetings and answering emails and wondering what to make for dinner while there is a real live actual coup d’etat happening is BONKERS

"Musk’s lackeys have taken control of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) and General Services Administration (GSA), and have gained access to the Treasury Department’s payment system, potentially allowing him access to a vast range of sensitive information about tens of millions of citizens.."
The Young, Inexperienced Engineers Aiding Elon Musk’s Government Takeover
Engineers between 19 and 24, most linked to Musk’s companies, are playing a key role as he seizes control of federal infrastructure.

Tofu pad thai. It's what's for dinner.

Uncle Roger would not approve of the presence of carrots and the appalling lack of garlic chives, but he didn't stop by to cook dinner, and this is my pad thai.

In the midst of this mess of a world, let gratitude win.

I love to cook. Singapore noodles on a Saturday night. Skipped the traditional shrimp and BBQ pork because we had wings that needed eating. 😋

Quiddler. That's a good one!
Word of the day is ‘quiddler’ (19th century): one who pays great attention to trivial matters as a way of avoiding the important ones.
