In case anyone wants to know my feelings on AI as a queer performer outside of the enormous environmental and ethical concerns.
My voice is the result of 2 decades of classical training that was interrupted by a masculine pitch shift at 35 years old. It is attached to a body that is preparing to undergo surgery that as of 1/1 is no longer covered under federal healthcare plans. I know, because I was hired for a post office job that I immediately had to quit because my benefits would not cover my hormones, either. Acting is the work I do to reconnect to who I am and where I have been. My work in Destiny 2 had moments informed by my sexual assault in 2009. My work in Hades is informed by my love of kink. When I speak about my work, I remember the lines I said, how they felt in my throat, the memories I lingered on. AI steals those from me and uses my instrument as a corpse. It evokes the image of my mother, standing in the kitchen over a chicken she slaughtered, laughing as she showed me its voice box before squeezing it. I heard it cluck, just like it was alive. And now I am that chicken, with my voice box held by someone hoping to make money while my blood is fresh on their hands. Queer performance cannot be separated from queer performers. Feeding our voices into a machine that is designed to make them statistically average robs us of the very fiber of our identity. They don't have the vocabulary or dataset necessary to properly handle this job, and I'm not interested in giving it to them.

Three years after this photo was taken, I would perform as Shrek in front of this very cart for $8/hr. This was how I earned SAG Eligibility in 2008, but I would not become a member until booking The Snow Queen in 2012.

After starting the new job I've started walking 2-3 miles every weekday to build up more stamina. Kinda wild to see it's added up to 64.5 miles.

My record so far is (not a joke) 69.69 miles. I'm shaping up to beat that pretty significantly if I stay on track!

Glendale station is pretty.

Yesterday, I went to Biscuit Bitch, where everyone greets you by calling you a bitch. Penny stopped by while I was there, and the counter person started shouting that Penny had arrived and needed her bacon. She got it. She did not want to leave.
