Dutchie in Edinburgh. Likes plants, cycling, and works with data. "Geriatric mother", does not believe in the cat-dog person dichotomy and Oxford comma enthusiast.
Only just saw this. I was in the Cycling UK list in 2023 (nominated for being on the Bikes for Refugees Scotland board) and earlier this month requested to remove my online mention + cancel my membership, like others have done. Hope to be able to make it tomorrow!
Come join us on Sunday December 14th for a series of Trans Solidarity Rides!

Three Edinburgh women-led cycle groups (InfraSisters, Queens of Pain and the Edinburgh School of Rocks) have joined forces to show solidarity with our trans sisters in the wake of Cycling UK’s decision to exclude them

Oasis can moan all they want about Edinburgh Council stereotyping their fans, but I've never sent as much broken glass on the Roseburn -Haymarket cycle path as since their concerts 😐🚲👎

Garbage in, garbage out. Nothing has changed since I wrote in my book about the dangers of acting like algorithms trained on biased datasets by biased owners are objective authorities.

Cycling should feel liberating, not intimidating - but too many women are missing out because they don't think it feels safe. Will you ask your MSPs to support Cycling UK's 'My ride. Our right' campaign to give more women the freedom to cycle?

I once shared an elevator ride with a Hare Krishna follower and Jehovah's witness, and they started talking to each other about the magazine/books they were each trying to sell (not so much about me, but I felt I had entered a joke)

Of course women hunted. I always thought that evolutionary it would be a pretty crap strategy for our species to only have half of the population suitable for one activity.
The Theory That Men Evolved to Hunt and Women Evolved to Gather Is Wrong
The influential idea that in the past men were hunters and women were not isn’t supported by the available evidence
