Agreed. Just such a shame that the Leader of the Opposition felt the need to resort to unnecessary personal insults which demean all Parliamentarians. She crossed a line for me. Sounded more like Farage.

I think you are too polite.

Leftist? You have got to be joking! On the whole it does a pretty good job of trying to stay impartial but from my perspective it has bent too far towards trying to appease the far right. Farage gets far too much airtime which is not aligned to his Parliamentary numbers.

With luck she won’t come back

Should have been saying this since 2020. Almost too late. We will pay the price in higher taxes for the multi millionaires who led Brexit because they knew the EU Commission was after their hidden wealth.

You can attend a meeting. Anyway, enjoy your European life. I’m enjoying what’s left of mine. It will be restored in certain before I shuffle off this mortal coil.

Not true. I am no longer a European citizen. We are Third Country Nationals.

Everyone has different lives. And if it did not matter why did the U.K. not apply 90 in 180 to Europeans. The 90 in 180 rule has a distorting impact. One day’s work in Frankfurt last year meant that I had to lose ten days of summer holiday in order to get back under 90 days.

I agree. Cannot abide those people who promised that Brexit would deliver Heaven on Earth and who now cannot admit it’s a disaster. Wonderful for the Brits who had the choice of escape. For other it does not quite work in the same way. But life is good. Just not as good as it might have been.
October 8, 2025 at 12:51 PM
Why should I have done that? The U.K. is my home. My family is here. All I needed was for the country not to renege on its ‘contracts’ with people and businesses. I was into my early sixties. I could afford to retire. I was one of the lucky ones.

I swear those who publish that rag are simply too thick to understand much at all. But the damage they do is terrible.
October 8, 2025 at 6:58 AM
I am sorry to hear this. What really frustrates is that if the Brexity types could actually point to a single tangible gain I might say it was worth it. But they can’t even do that. The ‘independence’ mantra is simply a fantasy born out of ignorance of reality.
October 5, 2025 at 5:46 AM
Exactly. I was lucky. Sold the business but it sticks in my craw when I consider an entire career built on a ‘contract’ with my country and the country reneged on the deal. When I see flags flying now I just feel sad and let down. Je suis toujours européen!
October 4, 2025 at 6:58 PM
The 90 in 180 was the biggest single cause of making me decide to retire. It impinges upon doing business and leading your life. I refuse to have to consider how much time I have attended meetings around Europe and then worry about going on holiday.

You cannot cave in.
September 19, 2025 at 4:18 PM
This is no surprise. I agree that these people really do believe in free speech…..as long as it aligns to their world view. Just like Soviet Russia, modern-day Russia, China, Belarus, N.Korea. We now know the true colours of our supposed ally.

I wonder how many of them will be in church tomorrow. Or for that matter know where their local church is. All very depressing.
September 13, 2025 at 4:33 PM
It’s a disaster for the entire U.K. Those who have visited this disaster upon us are the very ones who will now be moaning about lack of economic growth, migrant numbers etc and most of them will be oblivious to the fact that they are the architects of their position. Thoroughly depressing.
September 10, 2025 at 11:33 AM
Ok but what is your definition of ‘rich’?
September 8, 2025 at 12:08 PM
Yes it’s a sad fact that many Reform minded people are actively stymieing the prospects of their own families in the long term. Simplistic solutions to complex issues. The populist approach down the ages.
August 25, 2025 at 2:52 PM
Ah but if he did the right thing he’d be accused of being just like any other responsible politician. Why do the right thing when you can whip up hatred among the fearful and ignorant?
August 12, 2025 at 4:05 PM
They don’t have the brain cells sufficient enough to make the connection.
